Apple recently filed a patent that implements a control filter on certain words. But it’s okay. You needn’t care.
According to the official patent,
“The…control application evaluates whether or not the communication contains approved text based on, for example, objective ratings criteria or a user’s age or grade level, and, if unauthorized, prevents such text from being included in the text-based communication”
So if mommy and daddy are concerned that you’re having too much fun with your iPhone, they’d just turn on this little app.
But really, why stop there?
We could use this app to remove nasty words. In fact, one every year. We’d start with the real nasty ones and even go through the ones that are unnecessary or redundant. We could get rid of the tiny words that criticize people and government. We could remake the English language and it would be better. In a few years, we’d have a perfect world.
That’d be double good now wouldn’t it?
